Pastor Morgan Gordy
Pastor Morgan Gordy began her call at Christ Lutheran in January 2011. She is married to Julian Gordy, also a pastor, who serves as Bishop of the ELCA Southeastern Synod. They have four children and seven grandchildren which are great joys to the both of them. They have lived in the Nashville area since 2005.
Pastor Gordy served for several years as a diaconal minister before being called to Word and Sacrament ministry. She has a love for worship and congregational life and heart for outreach and service inviting all of God’s people to love and serve our Lord and our neighbor.
Pastor Gordy also has a heart for health ministry and sees it as an integral part of congregational life. With a background in nursing, she served the synod for several years as the chair of the Health Ministry Task Force and has offered retreats and workshops on the congregational health ministry and parish nursing.
A graduate of the Sursum Corda Spiritual Directors Formation Program, Pastor Gordy has also offered individual and group spiritual direction in addition to leading spiritual retreats in the synod.
Pastor Gordy is active in Disaster Response at the Synod and local level. She chairs of the Synod Disaster Task Force which provides training for Disaster Response Coordinators and congregations for disaster preparedness and response. She served as deployed staff in a coordinating role for the synod after Hurricane Katrina.
